a newspaper designed to help you slow down and find your inner creativity

Solace News began as a way to bring together the community through creativity. A tool to help you slow down, rest, create and recharge.

At the heart of Solace we believe that everyone has the right to access creativity. This newspaper offers an opportunity for creativity and learning without financial restrictions. Solace News is published quarterly and available in multiple venues around Shrewsbury completely free!

Solace News started as a small idea from print maker and illustrator Becky Rawlins. Through running her creative workshops Becky noticed the impact that stress and day to day life was having on people's mental health, and how introducing creativity as a regular ritual can have a huge positive impact!

Becky is passionate about building inclusive spaces where people feel safe and supported, she continues to run regular creative workshops in Shrewsbury but noticed that there was still a barrier to be able to access that kind of creativity.
